Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center (SYSUCC), established in 1964, is a Grade III-A public hospital and one of the four earliest tumor hospitals in China. It is the largest integrated cancer center in southern China for care, research, education, and prevention. With 2,243 beds across its Yuexiu and Huangpu campuses, SYSUCC provides comprehensive cancer care to patients from across China and Southeast Asia. The center is renowned for its multidisciplinary team (MDT) approach, offering personalized treatment plans for various cancers. Key specialties include Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Colorectal Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, and Head and Neck Surgery. SYSUCC is a leader in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) research and treatment, achieving international recognition. The hospital features advanced medical equipment, including PET/CT, MRI, and robotic surgery systems. While it does not hold JCI accreditation, it maintains high standards of care and is a World Health Organization collaborating center for cancer research.
